Job Title: Driver / Equipment Operator Job Description

We are seeking skilled equipment operators for an industrial renovation project at an oil and gas compressor station. The ideal candidate will have experience in operating equipment to support construction, earthwork, and demolition projects. This role involves tasks such as digging, loading trucks, moving materials, and working safely around existing underground utilities.

Responsibilities

• Use a hammer attachment to break up concrete and load it into trucks.

• Perform dirt work, including loading trucks, grading, and backfilling.

• Excavate around existing utilities with precision and care to avoid damage.

• Load, move, and stockpile dirt, gravel, aggregate, and other construction materials.

• Perform daily pre- and post-operation inspections of equipment and report maintenance needs.

• Follow site plans, blueprints, and foreman instructions to complete work accurately and efficiently.

• Adhere to all company safety policies, OSHA standards, and project-specific requirements.

Essential Skills

• Previous experience as a Heavy Equipment Operator (HEO) or in a similar safety role within an industrial or construction environment.

• Strong observational skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.

• Effective communication skills and the ability to work well with others.

• Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices for operating heavy machinery.

• Physically fit and able to stand for extended periods.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in an industrial environment.

Contractors have the opportunity to transition to direct employment and travel from project to project. The position offers the potential for overtime, as you will be working 10-hour days.

Work Environment

This position is within an industrial construction environment, working outside in all weather conditions. The typical schedule is Monday through Friday and Saturdays, from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with additional hours as required. The standard workweek includes five 10-hour days and one 8-hour day.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Hattiesburg, MS.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
