About the Role
The Company is seeking a Senior Head of Advancement to take on a pivotal senior leadership role within its Advancement Division. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading all relationship-based fundraising functions, including principal, major, planned, corporate, and foundation giving. This role is highly relational and requires a leader who can mentor and inspire a fundraising team, set clear expectations, and model best practices in major and principal gift work. The Senior Head of Advancement will also be a key partner to museum leadership, the Board, and campaign counsel, playing a central role in advancing a historic capital campaign and strengthening the institution's long-term philanthropic capacity. Applicants for the Senior Head of Advancement position at the company should have at least ten years' of progressive experience in advancement or fundraising, with a proven track record of leading and managing high-performing fundraising teams. The role demands a results-oriented, steady, and empathetic leader with campaign experience, capable of motivating others and sustaining a strong culture of philanthropy. The ideal candidate will have direct experience in securing and stewarding six to eight-figure gifts, particularly within a capital or comprehensive campaign environment, and a strong working knowledge of individual, corporate, and foundation giving. The role also requires the ability to lead through ambiguity, collaborate across departments, and a genuine alignment with the institution's mission and belief in the power of art as a public good.
