$14.57 an hour Position Title: School Psychology Intern-Multiple Positions
Sites to be Determined Job Description: The internship was established for the purpose/s of effecting positive behavioral change in students; providing supportive interventions to students; and complying with Federal, State, county and district policies, regulations and procedures. The intern assists in developing interventions, functional behavior assessments, and behavior intervention plans for the purpose of providing a safe and effective educational environment for students with challenging behaviors. He/she works cooperatively with building administrators to promote positive student behavior; develops a repertoire of assessment strategies; and engages parents in the "student behavior intervention plan" process and empowers parents by providing them with skills and techniques to support the positive behavior development of their child. The individual's role can include working with students identified through the MTSS process and with regular education students identified with having "challenging behaviors" within the CCSD. The intern will be supervised by a doctoral level school psychologist.
Required Education, Certification, or Training: Previous experience in a similar positions or course work in the areas of psychology, behavior, and education.
Required Skills: The ability to analyzing data; effective listening; and problem solving. Proficiency required in oral and written communication. The ability to adjust to changing conditions and situations.
Required Experience: Experience in working with and directing the activities of children, preferably in education.
