About the Role

We are seeking a VP of Health Plan Partnerships to grow revenue and strategic footprint within our existing payer partners. You will own post-land expansion strategy, uncover new use cases, and drive adoption across additional lines of business, regions, and member populations.

This role is ideal for a senior commercial leader who excels at developing deep, multi-threaded executive relationships, turning early wins into scaled deployments, and navigating complex internal dynamics to expand payer partnerships over time.

Youll work closely with clinical, product, implementation, and executive teams to ensure measurable value delivery, then translate that value into renewal and upsell momentum. This is a high-ownership role in an early-stage environment where youll shape how Hippocratic AI scales inside payer accounts.

Responsibilities

  • Own expansion revenue across existing health plan partners , including renewals, upsells, cross-sells, and multi-year growth plans.
  • Develop and execute executive-level account expansion strategies that map stakeholders, identify whitespace, and prioritize growth pathways (e.g., new geographies, product modules, member segments, or operational teams).
  • Identify, qualify, and close expansion opportunities by translating payer pain points into new AI-enabled programs with measurable ROI.
  • Build deep, trusted relationships across clinical, operational, digital, innovation, finance, and C-suite sponsor layers within payer organizations.
  • Lead complex internal sales cycles inside customers , coordinating security, compliance, contracting, procurement, and clinical governance for incremental deals.
  • Partner cross-functionally with product, clinical, customer success, and implementation teams to ensure strong value realization, reference ability, and scalable rollouts.
  • Maintain accurate forecasting and expansion pipeline reporting , proactively identifying risk and opportunity.
  • Serve as the voice of the customer to inform partnerships strategy, product roadmap, and market positioning aligned to payer needs.
  • Represent Hippocratic AI in executive QBRs, steering committees, and payer ecosystem events.

Qualifications

Must-haves:

  • 8+ years of experience selling into health plans, with a strong record of exceeding expansion/renewal or account growth targets.
  • Proven success expanding enterprise payer accounts, including multi-threading, selling new use cases, and growing contract value over time.
  • Executive presence and credibility with the ability to influence and align clinical, operational, digital, and C-suite stakeholders.
  • Experience managing sophisticated contracting and procurement processes, including amendments, renewals, and incremental SOWs.
  • Strong consultative selling approach, able to quantify value, build business cases, and tie outcomes to payer priorities.
  • Highly autonomous, proactive, and outcomes-driven, thriving in fast-moving, ambiguous environments.
  • Willingness to travel as needed (minimum of 3050%, including onsite meetings, QBRs, and conferences).

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Deep network within payer organizations and history of long-cycle relationship stewardship.
  • Experience expanding solutions across Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, Commercial, or dual-eligible populations.
  • Background in digital health, health tech, AI-enabled care models, or care management platforms.
  • Familiarity with payer clinical/operational workflows (care management, UM/CM, member engagement, risk adjustment, Stars/HEDIS, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of payer regulatory, compliance, and governance requirements for deploying AI in member-facing programs.
  • Experience partnering with customer success or implementation teams to drive value realization and scalable rollouts.
