Andover Animal Hospital is a busy General Practice in Newton, NJ. We have been supporting the community for more than 50 years and driving our mission of providing the highest quality care to the pets we love.

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Veterinarian to support our team on a temporary basis during the spring and summer of 2026. As a Veterinarian, you will be responsible for providing high-quality medical care to our patients, while being supported by a tenured, skilled and passionate team.

Duties

- Perform physical examinations and diagnostic tests on animals

- Diagnose and treat illnesses, injuries, and diseases in animals

- Administer vaccinations and medications as needed

- Perform surgeries and dental procedures (not required)

- Provide emergency care to injured or critically ill animals

- Educate pet owners on proper animal care and preventive measures

- Collaborate with veterinary technicians and other staff members to provide comprehensive care

Experience

To be successful in this role, you should have the following qualifications:

- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited veterinary school

- Valid state veterinary license

- Experience in a veterinary clinic or hospital setting is preferred

- Proficiency in aseptic technique, animal catheterization, laboratory procedures, and animal handling

- Knowledge of veterinary critical care, animal husbandry, and dog handling

Pay: From $130.00 per hour

Expected hours: 8 – 30 per week
